Innit. I need to get out more.

Seriously though, i wonder how many of them can actually DJ? Or even know what the big flashy buttons do? I bet they get paid handsomely too. Can we get some prices, make a graph and work out who is the most famous please? Thanks in advance.

I might send some 'exploratory' emails Wink

I want to know how much Patsy Palmer charges for a 2 hour set and need assurances she won't go anywhere near the microphone or wear a silver puffer jacket. Moon-boots and a bum-bag are optional.

I was genuinely thinking on the M1 today how I'd comfortably press the red armageddon button..

    No.

I was thinking how great it was so many ace bods are back on the forum but how to keep it that way.

I had this idea that we have a think about who is good at (or would like to have a go at) doing a weekly 'thing' for the forum that they'd be good at, like doing and would be a laugh to see.

    Like Mastermind's 'specialist subject'.

Nothing more than a few sentences.

I know it's bit idealist and like homework or something but the biggest problem the forum has is a sort of lack of regularity and involvement. In the sense that other forums always have football or obscure Hardfloor and R&S 12's type chat as a fallback position.

    Dunno like

Mark : actually the only actual scientist we have. If he did one Hawtin Science Bulletin a week or just a link?

Broadhead ; Page 3 raptor plumage pullout

    T.B : Shoe -in

Pimpers : actual DIY tip. He knows how to make a tree out of wood!

Bea ; teach a spanish rotten dirty swearword a week

Just something dead easy but regular. Like a satisfying movement Very Happy

    Question

I'm hallucinating off sudafed by the way

    cyclops

p.s the tenuous connection to the conversation was ; I thought how awesome it would be if Mark actually did the exploratory emails and posted them and any replies. LIke the Henry Root letters.

To give the Faith forum it's fair dues Blockup did once reply to a Nigerian E-scam and then had a long correspondence with them that was frankly brilliant.

Henry Root is the creation of writer William Donaldson who wrote to numerous public figures with unusual or outlandish questions and requests.

Charles William Donaldson (4 January 1935 - 22 June 2005) was an English satirist, writer, playboy and, under the pseudonym of Henry Root.

I would guess people at agencies such as the one I posted are pretty switched on and wary of timewasters, or am I being too kind?

It does not matter how stupid you pretend to be it can't be as thick as some of the real enquiries are from time to time.

Killer combo.... they deal with idiots making bonkers requests anyway PLUS they want to make money.

When I did PR scams this was the equation. The more simple you seem the more they think they can take you for. In that area you can dance a merry dance o yes!

Eventually you end up on James Whale as a secret lemonade drinker or on Blue Peter with dancing hoovers.

What was always the icing on his scams was the replies from people or offices. And if they replied he'd keep the dialogue going until they just stopped or threatened legal action. The first letter was usually at first glance 'straight' but contained a landmine of lunacy if they answered. There was always an arc that went from the very subtle to the very very mental.
