That's a really strange statement to me (and I don't mean that in a bad way).

I don't even look at Daley Thomson as a black athlete, just an athlete. Yet no more than 20 years ago it would seem he was held up as a poster boy for as you call it 'black Britain'.

Genuinely fascinating how different things are when you're at either end of the spectrum.
