This is like when London describes itself as "one of the restaurant capitals of the world," right?

it's not even the restaurant capital of england.
I think acting is a fair call. By acting I mean being consistently the best for a long time, producing a disproportionately high number of top actors for the country's size. But mostly I mean technique. British actors are just better. More range. I mean you only have to see an aussie or septic trying to do an accent to see....
There's a reason productions like 'band of brothers' and other heavyweight shows have a 90% British cast.
And so far this is the only thing I can think of.
Daddy's not letting you Brits have anything

I know you won't believe me due to the bias but I have seen News coverage from all over the world and worked with most of them and you have no idea just how much better we are at doing it.
At every level, from impartiality to production to impact... our TV News is the best.
Seriously.

The Cottage is a delight to behold. Do you make your own butties at home ever? If so, buy some of their large bread cakes too. You can then have fun creating your own perfect breakfast sandwich.

Re: What are the English best at?
There's a place called News Cafe that I've been using for my weekend breakfasts here in Umhlanga. It's a chain like Wetherspoons but nicer, much nicer.
Anyway, they advertise a full english. Imagine my dismay when it arrives with no sausages! Of course, I informed the rather attractive young waitress that they were in fact in breach of false advertising as a full english should include sausages. Next time I went, sausage on my plate. Result.

In Hong Kong, they served up chicken sausage with my so called full English. No sausage victory this time though as I ate it without complaining, much to my disgust.

In Kwangju, South Korea, a "cappucino" comes with layers of cream and green icing. Italia!
