Agreed. Funny man.
I was planning to sit in a cheap plastic chair in the North Sea and tell it to f**k off.

I thought the scenes looked ace on TV. Probably not so great for those that live in London.

you might be right, I've lived in spain and italy most of my life and while they do have amazing feast days and pageants they don't do the big royal thing.

Re: Larry Levan's Weekend Plans.
I approached it with the 'not arsed' attitude that I always do but I was genuinely taken aback at the sheer volume of people that turned out to celebrate.
The scenes down the Mall yesterday during the fly past looked amazing.
One thing I would say though. Being up in the north it all did seem pretty detached. I think despite the best effiorts it was very London centric. Not that I have a problem with that. I fear that's what the Olympics will be like though, which is a shame.

Re: Larry Levan's Weekend Plans.
They didn't mention that on Sunday they closed every single bridge from lunch 'til 10pm.
It is impossible to navigate London with no bridges.
I was lucky I spotted this in the Observer as per usual the radio traffic people were bugger-all use.
I was entering London as it all peaked and I was cackling like a witch at how heavy the rain was. You just can't make it out on telly.

This is luck on your part given your frequent travel disasters.

Re: Larry Levan's Weekend Plans.
Mate if you just leave the house in London on a weekend like that nothing can help you.
It took nearly 12 hours to do a 5 hour drive on Friday. It took about 2 hours for a 20 min job to return the van on Monday because so many roads were closed for 'street parties'. The curse is still firmly in place believe me.

Not too bad at all. The job-hunting isn't exactly going as hoped but I'm only eating one meal a day and I'm losing weight again. Bonus.

Yeah, apparently you were having a weekend off dating.
I have no idea when or where it was. I couldn't get much sense out of her on Sunday.

harsh!
I like Bolton. My Dad is from there.
Although it was almost the first place in the UK to get demoted.
The Govt a while back took the name off all the motorway signs and essentially tried to have it relegated from a city to a town.
All of Bolton was a bit stumped how to protest as to be blunt it is a very diminished version of itself.
In the end they had to go "Look! we've got a cathedral!".
Which by definition makes them a city.
