It's easy to attack Cowell as a sinister figure but he's actually the only television 'producer' who has the balls to look his subjects in the eye. Worse things than he has ever done happen every day on telly it's just there is no-one to focus on so people forget there are puppeteers.
Every right minded person finds these shows horrible but tend to forget that 90% of the degradation is self inflicted. I thinks it's all the more painful for that.
