My PC is creaking under the strain of such simple tasks as viewing forums. Will be trying a 'clean install' but am expecting to have to make an investment at a time when I could well do without it.

having to write a bio about yourself

Bios are only there to make you feel like a tit while writing them. Its all done on purpose cos I doubt anyone really reads them!

I always read them.

A well written Bio goes further with me than DJing. Anyone can play records but the personality should come through in a good Bio.

Sometimes it's made clear in the text that you had to write it yourself and can be done with some wit and self deprecation.

I like that we had a power cut today in blyth, and the only houses taken out were mine and the craft shop. Therefore I had to go to the pub.

That sounds like a feasible plotline for "Ocean's 14" or something....

"Ok we take out the power to the local Lawman and The Craft Shop... which means no one can crochet up a jailhouse or prosecute us... so we are free to steal the fabulous Blyth Crown Jewels..."

yes I know what you mean, for the first few months of my unemployment I cant say I put that much effort into looking, was quite enjoying for the first time in 16 years to actually have more than 2 weeks off at once.
