5. people visiting other people on my street for Easter and parking in my special place
4. tourists
3. for the first time in years wishing I had a tv
2. all the newspapers sold out and no shops open
1. rain. I had all my stuff ready to go for a lovely ramble

I'm not happy about being at work and pretty much the only one too.

there is no way I'd even leave the house in pissing rain never mind go into it for fun. there isn't enough foul weather gear in millets to make me do it.

i was pining for you on the moors like heathcliff was for cathy.

it only takes 5 mins to drive up to the Moor... nearly 2 hours in sideways rain clambering up a mountain stream is pretty bracing you total sofa spud

To be frank Al there isn't any foul weather gear worth shelling out for when it gets really bad. IMO the pricey gore-tex and all that becomes irrelevant after a certain point and it's all about layers.

The trick is to get wet and not be bothered. Staying warm is the only thing that matters.

I've never felt comfy in fancy gear I always get too hot. I like a nice balance of the outside damp cooling down a good inner core temperature rather than the other way around.

It's high winds you got to look out for.
