Well Herman (who my partner in the label) called me last night and wants to end VVWI.

It's reached a critical mass of costing too much.

So I'm not sure if there will be a forum much longer.

Well the bad news is that like others Herman reckons the forum is not effective or certainly isn't on it's own.

On the plus side he might continue if I spend all my time on Facebook and Twitter.

The prospect doesn't appeal but he's got fair points.

Ultimately whatever I do to keep it afloat will not pay. Which happens whichever way you slice it.

Part of me is OK with ending it. I'd end up with 2 working days a week to devote to something real that could pay the bills.

Part of me naturally wants to fight to the death.

Yeah I could make a go of publicising it as much as is possible with no budget and we could stop Mastering stuff and paying for proper art but that would basically make us exactly the same as the thousands and thousands of bedroom labels that kind of contributed to getting us to this point in the first place.

I think a combo of my disappearing for 2 weeks after getting robbed and my last one (oriental clockwork) only selling 3 downloads. The two seem to have made Herman pretty annoyed.

It has always been a loss for me. Yes it's always been uphill.

It's not money it's time mate.

That's really kind though.

The argument is that the forum is not just unproductive it's counterproductive.

Mac has always said that but Herman owns half the label and if he says stops the forum and go on Facebook or else it is a real threat.

It's about the impending death of the label really dude.

I'm not being Tory, I'm trying to be succint (and coming across Tory).

It is very sad, but it'd be even sadder continuing to pour money into a bottomless pit.

And I'm with Wookie, the forum should keep going in some form or another, even if it costs a few quid.

We change the name of the forum then. Or set up a new one. You don't have to run it, I'm sure one of us plebs could figure that piece out with a little help.

Even Basics has a forum. I mean, how hard can it be?
