I watched a bit of Corrie last night. Terry Duckworth is back and is now the size of a semi-detached house in Chorlton. He is also apparently opening a lap dancing club at the end of the street. Tyrone is not amused.

Of all the soaps it's the only one that is funny but I can't say I remember a golden era. Is it still funny?

Far from it. It seems it is actually trying to be funny now and therefore failing miserably. Though in fairness i only caught about ten minutes of it so i'm not really able to make a witty Mike Bushell style review.

Weirdly I have quite a few highlights in my head but I can't ever remember watching it.

Jack Duckworth sees one of the characters locked out of a window on the street dressed as Santa and doesn't say a word just looks at the bottle he is carrying and shakes his head.

Norris is caught reading in the shop and says calmly to Rita "Knowledge is power Rita... knowledge is power."

Blanche once said "good looks are a terrible curse Deirdre! You and Kenneth should count yourselves very lucky."
