Yeah but I think we should (in the spirit of fairness) ask AL exactly what constitutes a hostage situation... to be clear.

We may find that yes, there may have been actual bundling into vans in deserts... but there may just have equally been a dispute over the BBC's idea of what constitutes 'expenses' when it comes to drinks.

I mean, Al was petrified in Ibiza half the time so how he managed in Iraq I do not know.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if he said at one point, in all seriousness "look here! I'm an Englishman!" or something very similar...

That's just ridiculous. Drink a foreign cuppa!? I have to draw the line there. Have to tried to appease a warlord who puts goat's milk in opium laced local tea?

    Two words for you amateurs.

I told you at the time. We get to go to bed in Iraq. The only time you are being pumped with drugs and kept awake for days with ear splitting decibels is when the CIA have "taken an interest" in you.

This weekend, while trying to avoid being fingerbobbed, this is what I'm doing:

Thurs - being taken out on a company jollie with free booze somewhere. Should be fun.
Fri - recovering from an almighty hangover & womanising.
Sat - nowt yet. we'll see.

Well a great weekend was had with the York Yurters. Daft drunken behaviour all weekend.

This was all horribly overshadowed this morning when my pa called to say the dog had passed away yesterday. Well gutted. Sad
