    Slam's Hogmanay Plans

Post  Fandango Widewheels on Wed Dec 08, 2010 3:12 pm

So what's everyone doing for New Year this time around?

We're actually ditching New Years eve in favour of New Years day (well, I say ditching, it's more of an enforced move due to the mini cmd being at home).

Anyway, off to the WHP on New Years day. The line up looks pretty solid. I've never done the NYD thing before. Seems like a good idea this year seeing as we don't go back to work until Tuesday.

    Happy New Year everyone!

We had a quiet-ish New Years eve down at Distrikt in preparation for WHP on New Years day.

I thought the music was spot-on from the moment we walked in. Really enjoyed sets from Jamie Jones, Cassy, then Derrick Carter.

Then Dubfire came on and spoilt it, playing some awful banging soulless tripe! I went for a wander into room 2, where Damian Lazarus had just come on, and was also playing some weird shit. So that's where the good music stopped for the night really.

Met Markd77 and the future PMD who were both great fun Very Happy Mark kept on giving me poppers to combat the cold Embarassed and I saw Bish very briefly at some point.

Good fun, but it's taken me ages to start to feel normal again...

I know this message is a little late but I had a different NYE.

First of all I had to work during the day. I started at 8am and finished at 3pm. During this time I did absolutely F-all. However I did have my external hard drive so sat and watched the Shogun Assassin. "Choose the sword and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother in death. You don't understand my words, but you must choose. So, come boy choose life or death."

After work my missus informed that I needed to organise a fancy dress. We were going to a pub in Pateley Bridge. This was not at the top of my list of things to do for NYE as Michelle's (my missus) parents live there. However I get on with them really well and her father also likes a drink. On arrival the drinks were flowing and there were some funny fancy dresses as well. 10 pints of worthingtons later I felt rather full and moved onto double vodka and cokes which caused some carnage. 12am arrived and we all sang "Auld Lang Syne". In the end good times were had. Here is a picture:
