I know the answer to this one.

basically like faceache and myspazz, people use the net to stalk timbot. So many of the new 'members' are actually only registered to send a PM to tim asking for something. They aren't interested in us.

haha! actually that makes me sound more stalk-worthy than is strictly true. People do register to contact and it's usually to get on a guestlist or send mixes or demos or lately.. to join the band Shocked

Some just like to lurk, probably hoping I'll be rude or stupid Very Happy

Mostly they probably get an eyeful of how dull we are and give up early doors cyclops

I don't think anyone is scared I just think they are corrupted by Facebook and don't really get the 'way of the forum' as TB so excellently put it.

Like I said. Quite a lot just want something and don't hang around if they don't get it. It's human, nothing sinister.

I think there is a combo of younger types thinking that forums are a bit old hat and also (quite rightly) mostly populated by wankers who vent their spleen all over the gaff.

I do think it might be an idea, if not a bit patronsing, to have a sticky thread that is for newbies maybe letting them know how it goes here

i.e we are fairly nice if not boring and you need a B&W avatar etc?

    just a thought

I think a fair few do join up actually looking for a placed to vent their spleen and see we aren't like that and bugger off.

Also to be fair a few come on thinking it will be like other music/label/techno forums and get a bit lost by the fact that music isn't the main thing.

I suspect a lot of pimply young lads hold their knowledge of music in high regard and get a bit lost when they can't go wanging it around like a plank with a nail in it online Very Happy which I like.

I think some are just scared of long words.

It's about not having the board turn into a boys club like most forums. That's all. Some of us love football but it's not for here. Not if we want people with Vaginas on it Wink
