He liked all the vocal house of the time where as me and my mates were more of the rave and piano tunes liking. One of my mob carried a Dream FM record bag but tensions really rose when another got and Ark jacket and a Technics jumper. Lots of sneering across the dining room ensued until it reached breaking point. Scott and his mates were having a crafty fag just opposite where my Ark jacket friend lived. He had a pear tree in his garden so we started tobbin' a few pears at them. That was about as far as the war went in terms of action. It was more of a cold war if anything but then we started bumping into each other at Hard Times and Basics and realised we were both wrong all along! So at least it had a happy ending. We never wore the Naff Co 54 jackets though, that was more market chique and 'appy 'ardcore!

    He'll fit right in.

Ark and Technics bomber jackets, classic. Do you remember the Ark shop in the Corn Exchange? I always refused to go in and would even stand outside while my mates perused the various items of rave gear. I've always been a stubborn opiniated twat you see.

Wow, it really is tough in the north. Was this all Thatcher's fault?

Thatcher banned record bags and put all the northern DJ's out of work as they'd not latched onto the use of crates like the southerners had.

Thing is, we were only around 13-15 years old and there were no records in the bag. They were just for carrying school books around! The Technics jumper was a beauty. On the back it said, "Extacy - seriously damages the souls of your feet!" His parents must have been proud as punch.

I used to go in The Ark Shop in the Corn Exchange and spend my pocket money on rave tapes. So long as I had enough cash left for a bottle of Special Red I was happy.

I used to get my tapes from Crash. Can't believe I used to pay £8 for a shit house recording on a 60 minute tape.

If your mansion house needs haunting just call........

Alas, I'm no Timothy Claypole I'm afraid and Prentaghast is just a nick name variant of Prentice. I used to get phone calls from a pesky window company asking for Mr Prentaghast though and after correcting them several times I said yes, I am Mr Prentaghast so piss off. I liked it because it sounded like Rentaghost so well observed!!

As for rave tapes in Crash, my mate paid £9 for a gabba tape called "Speedfreak" in there which was 60 minutes of the most god awful noise you could imagine. Luigi's Listening Booth was another hotspot for rave tapes.

i.e we are fairly nice if not boring and you need a B&W avatar etc?
