So far me and my friend Mike have had 3 or 4 letters printed on a variety of topics, including the local carnival, cottaging in the tin bogs (invesitigated by the police and closed down no less) and dogging (again, the police got involved)
Anyway, our next one is about the new proposed Temperance Band practice building. A drain on local funds if you ask us. They will print pretty much anything we throw at them, but if this one gets printed it will be our best work yet.
Fingers crossed.
why are there no scans of these on here scott?
I'll try and get one on later, i have the dogging one in my draw and i think the tin bogs one is on Facebook.
This is the latest one (excuse the lack of paragraphs):
I am writing with regards to the article featured in Aprils Record about the launch of the Music Rooms Project. Whilst i do not doubt this is a worthy edition to the local area, i can't but help think this money be spent in better ways to help our fair town. What does this mean for the rest of Rothwell's facilities? For a town that has had to cut back funding on it's once wonderful carnival, that people traveled far and wide to attend, i can't help but feel it is a bit of a drain on our funds. Don't get me wrong, i love the sound of a good brass. I have often immersed myself to the sounds of Fanny Pits finest and loved nothing more than losing myself to the wonder of the local favourites the Black Dyke. That's all well and good, but why do we need this expensive venue to play these sounds? i imagine someone playing a rusty trombone in the Tin-Bogs would sound just as good and not many people would know the difference. I know i wouldn't. I for one would like some clarification from the council as to how this can be justified. I am sure i speak for quite a few of the local community who want answers as to why they can't blow their bugles elsewhere. Lets not forget that local band the Pigeon Detectives made it big rehearsing in the old garages at the back of Homelea house, and as they have switched the Christmas lights and been on Top of the Pops one can only assume it never did them any harm. If Blackburn Hall was good enough for Desmond Decker, another chart topper i should add, then why should these brass blowers get their own venue? And lets not forget DJ Krazy Ken honing his skills in the Windmill Youth Club all those years ago, he didn't have up to date facilities to work his magic but he entertained many a youth none the less. So come on local council, justify this facility when there are other venues readily available. We await your response.
I take it all back
go to the top of the class immediately

Hi res scans also.
I think your printed ponderings encapsulate your quizzical thread and I very much look forward to it.
Just... can you do it before your date? as we all know what a sensitive soul you are.
If it goes badly we'll see nothing. And frankly if it goes well we'll see even less.

What are you going to wear Scott?
A shirt that is too small for you. Granted.
Come on my thread and I'll sort you right out.

I'm not sure yet, though it will definitely be a shirt, most likely denim.

I look it, but feel sprightly. I find it very hard to stay awake whilst watching Snooker and yesterday was no exception.
