I always though Vodka was like being mugged by a spud.
But a mate lined up a load of posh (and not so posh) Vodkas for me once and really nice vodka actually tastes nice. I was a bit taken aback 'cos I have no sense of taste at all.

The Vespa Cocktail:
2 parts gin
1 part vodka
1 part vermouth
Lemon (or olive)
1. Pour booze into a pint glass or cocktail shaker/flask
2. Add a scoop of ice cubes
3. Stir the drink with a long spoon but make sure that the ice moves as one block and stir slowly to minimise the ice melting
4. Pour through a strainer into a martini glass
5. Peel a strip of lemon
6. Twist the lemon into the glass
p.s. Shake instead of stir to make it colder.
