Hello everyone

Hello!

Been a member of this board for a bit but never posted anything, I'm a friend of Jim(_kezzle)'s and he suggested popping over here and saying hello as a way to spend my working hours

I'm Tom, big fan of techno and tech-housey stuff, favourite DJ's are people like Hawtin (my favourite, on his good days), Villalobos, Dettmann, Klock, Efdemin, Zabiela (again, on his good days), Luciano... Only been to one VVWI event, ages ago when it used to be in the basement of Northern Light. It was messy and lots of fun, so looking forward to checking out another soon...

I think I'm clean, although I did wake up on Monday with a bit of a sore throat, thought nothing of it until I saw the headlines and had a (very) mini panic. It's gone now. Honestly.

On a more serious note, how shit is all that chat about how a pandemic would mean festivals will have to be cancelled?! Let's hope it doesn't come to that...

Yeah, thought it'd been a while since I last saw it on the net and it matched my intro spiel pretty well

Hmm, Richie is pretty techno.. Ricardo not so much. All depends on how broad your definition of "techno" is though, I suppose..

Variety of reasons I think their image/appearance is one - Richie going from his uber-techno bald head to weird swooshy techno hair, to beard and wierd Contakt promo photos, Ricardo with his scarves and sunglasses and being the gayest straight man alive And the way that minimal suddenly became the poseurs favourite (think Leeds sunglasses crew..) so it was bound to attract some negative attention from people who were part of the scene before that and saw these people as not being "properly" into it or whatever - and as Richie and Ricardo (and now probably Sven?) are probably the most popular, or at least most well-known, techno DJs, they were the ones the newcomers idolised, so there was probably a bit of backlash to that.
