Watched loads of Father Ted on Saturday. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Being brought up as part of an Irish Catholic family there is so much of it that rings true.

I have watched series one of 'The River" which is produced by Spielberg and directed by the guy who did 'Paranormal Activity'.

I hope somebody else here watches it so I can check if I'm taking crazy pills but I think it is laughably shit.

I had to watch it all to check like Embarassed

I'll have a look at it. Not sure how good a measure of whether someone is on crazy pills or not though.

I watched 'The Secret Life of Ice' last night

    Decent documentary from BBC4.

    It was really interesting, honest.

I know a few on here have read 'Freakonomics'. The documentary is on Skygo for those of you with Sky that haven't seen it. I've got it in Sky+ to watch soon.

Well the new Alan Partridge show didn't let me down, nor did it set my world alight. There were a few proper LOL moments. I'll be watching next week.

The Men Who Made Us Fat has been a bit of an eye-opener on BBC2 (you can see the first 2 episodes here: iPlayer and the last episode is on this Thursday night)

I mean, it's common knowledge that you should make as much of your own meals from fresh ingredients, but I didn't realise how much 'low fat' foods are pumped full of sugar to replace the taste Shocked I suppose it makes perfect sense when you think about it....

That's what's making every fucker in American and the UK obese.

Yeah it's well worth a watch. The 'food' industry is going to go the way that the tobacco industry did.

They've pumped millions into lobbying governments and the World Health Organisation not to issue health warnings on sugar, but it's coming!!

Hi eveyone, it's been a while for me..... cheers

I've been watching The Men Who Made Us Fat, eye opening stuff. Corn Syrup = Devils Spawn!!

I'll try catch The River, looking for something new. Can't wait for 5th Season of Breaking Bad, starting mid July, if you've not watched it, get on it. One of the best things on tv for me, up there with The Wire / Sopranos

Anybody seen the full 1st season of Falling Skies? was is any good?? I gave up after a few episodes as it was a bit crap but the adverts for the 2nd season look good

All good recommendations Mundyke. Nice to have you back albeit temporarily. You caught us in a summer lull.

I got to the end of series 3 of Breaking Bad on Netflix, only to find series 4 isn't on there. Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!

    I was most upset.

In other news I got round to watching the Freakonomics documentary. Excellent stuff, the CMD thought so too. I think I'd enjoy being an economist.

I think it's worth watching. It's like reading a book more than once, it just gives you a deeper understanding of the subject (if you want one).
