    I was pulling a sick tree down to use in No Tossers and my mates saw all these deadly power tools and one spotted a wee trowel and goes ;

    "what the fuck use is this!?"

    I said it's my pointing trowel

    "you don't use a garden trowel for brickwork"

    It's not for pointing. It's for "pointing". Now go over there and do some fucking work *gesticulates grandly with said trowel*

    I need a metal one to be fair. The one i have i didnt actually buy, i got up one morning and some nice swine had launched it into my garden. Ive never looked back since, life changing moment for me.

    Those tulips i grew were my first attempt at gardening. Im a new man.

    Thats ridiculous. I watched a documentary on these excavator things the other night. Brilliant it was. They showed this quarry where they had about ten of the things working together. I dont think TV can convey the true proportions of them. Immense.

    You really would just want to smash and break and dig anything that got in your way. You could take out whole towns.

    that's Linton Falls Bish. Outside my Mum and Dad's place.

    It is famous for killing kayakers. The Root Bole of that flotsam tree was like a WWI mine... the water level is fairly low there... a couple more feet and it would kill anyone as it is directly in the flow of that flue and the danger end would be submerged.

    My Mam was stressing about it for a week. After a flood that tree lodged there and that pic is after I had already pollarded it down. It was a fair size.

    Later I was waist deep in very fast flowing water holding a chainsaw above my shoulder height for hours. My Mam was on their balcony shouting "you've missed a bit" and such Rolling Eyes

    Above is a bridge and tourists were lined up all day goggling. Silly cunts.

    I got it down to 3 large logs and floated them down to a wee cove and beached them. (at the time I was building my gallery so I was going to use the timber) The Root Bole in particular was a prized find... washed and aged in the water... like a magnificent candle holder (what I intended to use it for) which weighed a good hundredweight and again I floated to a safe spot.

    Bearing in mind this was a full day's labour akin to the fucking Edinburgh Tatto.

    So next day I get back up there with a van. Water level had risen... every fucking bit had gone!

    Never underestimate the mighty mighty River Warfe.

    So mightily pissed off, carrying an Axe and with a large dog I marched about 5 miles downriver looking for the biggest piece which I was concerned about because it was big enough to take out a bridge or do some serious damage to something.

    After a few miles I am well annoyed and stop a couple of ramblers and go ;

    "sorry to bother you... but have you seen a big log coming down here?"

    this lady goes : "Oooh I don't know... what's it called?"

    So I'm thinking... weirdo. So I go :

    "er.... Woody? I dunno. Does it matter?"

    She says..."Well what does it look like?"

    So I go :

    "Err.... Brown... massive! I mean I have to find it it could do some damage downstream. It's about the size and weight of a Van travelling at possibly 10 or 15 miles an hour"

    She looks wide eyed at her husband... looks at me (Camo Tunic, Huge Axe, Mad beard, Big Dog. sweaty and annoyed) and she goes ;

    That's a very big dog.
