VVWI reports?
Did nobody off this board go? Or are you all still huddled in a dark room somewhere cracking on?

Re: VVWI reports?
Saturday Night at VVWI
Well I rolled up around 11.30 after a few pre-club drinks back at a friends flat and I was greeted by the vivacious Fran.
My Friends and I entered the club which was a bit quiet but it was only early doors.
To Start the night off I believe King Roc was playing a live set which I enjoyed, it was very percussive and techy and was warming things nicely.
As the night wore on the music got better and better and the club/dancefloor fuller and fuller, with Tim, Mike Monday and King Roc playing back 2 back bouncing off each other and bringing the tempo up and up to explosive proportions.
The music was absolutely banging, It was a refreshing change to hear some techno pounding out that wasn't the same as all the other nights in Leeds.
There are so many similar brands or headline acts that all sound the same every week, bringing more of the same to an already saturated deep house/minimal scene.
It was good to hear some good tuneful techno with a bit of direction that caught your attention and tickled all your aural senses rather than the sometimes repetitive feel you seem to get a lot of nights.
The atmosphere was really nice with lots of friendly people who I enjoyed talking to both inside the club and outside having a smoke, some local, some who came by chance, others who travelled especially and of course the usual suspects for all Tim's events.
Overall for the first off outing at a club, the week before Easter bank holiday, which I know loads of my friends were having to save money for the week after, and with the students being away it wasnt a bad turn out at all.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and so did all of my friends and everyone else I met that night. I hope its the first of many VVWI nights at Mint club in Leeds as I cant wait for the next.

Re: VVWI reports?
I was fairly happy. We knew we'd been given a duff date. No students and sandwiched between end of month/payday and easter.... so I was happy. I asked a few other clubs and they were empty.
How was Basics Rog?
On the pus side I was dead pleased with the music and the crowd.
On the down side I just HATE it when people ask for guestlist but don't use it. You judge a night's expected numbers by the size of the list. We had about 200 which means you get a good 900-1000.
Only about 50 used their places. That really annoys me 'cos not only is it rude it deprives other people of a place.
I have made a list. Yah.... a list of naughty people.

I've had a hell of a week and just when I was trapped at Rockerby wondering why the hell I was still awake... then our Joe put on King Britt and I had one of those moments when you remember why you do it. One of the simple highlights of a troublesome week
