Revolucion Records Thread Empty JIMMY HILL - One Mile High RR026

Post  Son of Nod Wed Jul 14, 2010 11:05 pm

JIMMY HILL - One Mile High
One Mile High (Original Mix) 07:40
    upDOWN (Original Mix) 07:46

The latest instalment from the Revolucion Records crew sees the highly anticipated Revolucion debut from UK based Dj and Producer Jimmy Hill. If you have been following Jimmy for the last fews years you will know what to expect from him, quality house music… and plenty of it, and he certainly doesn't disappoint here with 2 superb cuts of primetime, dancefloor friendly house.

A name synonymous with quality, forward thinking house music, Jimmy has always tried to push his own idea of what moves a dancefloor both as a well respected Dj and of course as an accomplished producer. His passion for producing underground music that has won him plaudits across the globe from some of dance musics heavyweights including Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Nic Fanciulli, Sasha and of course Steve Lawler whose VIVa Music imprint has Jimmy as one of their main featured artists, which has seen him release several tracks on the label as well as mix their best of 2009 compilation. Jimmy was also an original member of the Punkrok collective whose tracks appeared on Toolroom Records, and he was solely responsible for the massive Punkrok remix of the Bizarre Inc classic 'Playing With Knives' and the remix for the title track of the New Order album 'Sirens', so it is no wonder that he has found the respect of his peers and why he is still so
busy after 15 years in the industry.

One of the best received tracks that appeared on Revolucion's limited WMC promo pack back in March, the title track "One Mile High" is just pure peaktime house music that locks you into it's groove and takes you prisoner with its driving baseline and subtle vocals used to great effect, definitely a track thats just ripe for the those moments on the dancefloor over in Ibiza or wherever else you choose to spend your summer months. Backing this up is the equally impressive "upDOWN", following a similar vibe to the title track this is again another sun kissed house track that is sure to smash the dancefloor. Both tracks are a slightly different more house based style than you would normally expect from Jimmy, but both show a whole new side to this talented producer, and if these 2 tracks are anything to go by lets just hope he continues to push this new direction forward in the future.

    RR027
    LUCIANO NIETO - Latin Data
    Latin Data (Original Mix) 07:21
All Do Want (Original Mix) 08:02

Continuing their fine tradition of releasing quality underground music from up and coming names to the scene, Revolucion Records return with another newcomer to the label in the form of Argentinian born producer Luciano Nieto. This debut release perfectly showcasing those deep, underground sounds that this talented producer is now known for with 2 cuts of dancefloor friendly underground house music.

Born in Argentina, Luciano was always destined for a career in the music industry following in his father's footsteps who is a well respected audio and video technician back in his native homeland. Since his first release back in 2002 he has continued to develop his own style of both techno and deep house music to further enhance his reputation for producing quality underground beats aimed directly at the dancefloor. This much traveled young man takes his musical influencies from many of the places he has lived including the latin based sounds from his homeland, the underground sounds from London and the balearic sounds of his current home, the white isle of Ibiza.

For this first release Luciano kicks things of with "Latin Data" with its effective use of stabs and glitches adding to the tribal based drums and percussion to give a deceptively upbeat feel, perfect for those summer beach parties out in the sun. Backing this up is the more tech house based "All Do Want" taking things a touch deeper than the previous track it is again a drum and percussion led dancefloor friendly cut with a subtle vocal running through it to give it a slightly quirky feel, ideal for the more underground basesd dancefloors and warm up sets.

    ADRIAN BAICEANU - Head Haunted
    Head Haunted (Original Mix) 06:43
Head Haunted (Sunset Carnival Mix) 11:24
Head Haunted (Jimmy Hill's Going down South Remix) 07:42
    ...
The next instalment from Revolucion Records brings another new release from of one of their most featured artists of the year so far Adrian Baiceanu, returning with the highly anticipated "Head Haunted" featuring 2 quality mixes from Adrian himself alongside a superb remix from Jimmy Hill.

At the start of the year Romanian born Adrian told his friends that 2010 would be a year he was dedicated solely to production. Since then the has gone on the rack up his fourth release in just six months on Revolucion with his own brand of deep, sexy, underground house music gaining him support from a whole host of leading Dj's and Producers from across the globe. Constantly developing and twisting his sounds to create a perfect vibe with his music, Adrian certainly hits the spot with this one we think..

The "Original Mix" starts things off in fine style with its driving drums, tribalesque rhythms and subtle vocal taking you on a journey of deep and dark beats. Following that the "Sunset Carnival Mix" takes things down a much more groovy tech house based route road, keeping the drums from the original yet adding a much more funk fuelled minimalistic feel to the track, perfect for both those upcoming daytime parties out in the open air and those late night moments on the dancefloor. Rounding things off is "Jimmy Hill's Going Down South Remix" which will no doubt get the crowds going with its deep and heavy drums leading proceedings to take you on a dark trip of underground house music, just like you would expect from Jimmy. Another excellent release from the Revolucion team which will no doubt add to their ever growing reputation for underground music made strictly for the dancefloor.
