We use to use these when we were building lighting rigs during the Edinburgh festival. There was an occasion were I was at the top of a ladder tightening the nut on one of these. You had to lift up the scaff bar at the same time to take the weight of the clamp while you tightened. Being about 10 foot up a ladder not holding on I was wobbling all over the shop. I thought everything was tight and let the clamp take the weight but my finger got caught in between the washer and bottom nut. It was a very painful experiences. (When I also last used these, you could not tighten them by hand you had to use a spanner. It made life a little more tricky.)

I'm going to have to take my hat off to The Leatherman Wave. I have owned one for about 8 years now and it has dug me out of many sticky positions. Last night the flush on my toilet decided that it had had enough. The rubber seal had eroded to a point were it had fallen to bits. After unscrewing the lid, cutting out a new seal, fitting, job was sorted. Multitool saved the day again. Here here to The Leatherman.

When I was at university I did a shop at the local supermarket. To save me carrying all the shopping we stole one of the shopping trolleys and wheeled it all back to the house. The problem then was that once we made it home and unpacked the shopping we discovered that we couldn't get our pound back out of the trolley. All being to lazy to walk back we decided to sit and have a smoke. After a few bongs and a couple of spliffs we decided to file through the chain so we could regain the pound. An hour and a half later the pound was free and the trolley soon became our night time dodgem. Wink

I dunno. Skiing arseholed is great!

I currently have to make our youngest an "authentic English longbow of only the finest Yew" (his words).

It's not as easy as I thought, but fucking hell if I'm not really enjoying it in a very guilty way.

I am, like many of his harebrained quasi mediaevalist wheezes, fairly certain he has no clue how much strength is needed to pull the string back to your chin.

I told him he'd better be dead eyed dick crossed with Robin Hood with the bastard in 6 months or it's the last time I get involved with his bloody "commitments" (read : hobbies NOT university)
